Season of Hope
We kicked-off 2011 with a sermon series on giving called, “Maximize.” The challenge was for every person to take a growth step in their giving. Well, God has brought forth, through you, a solid increase in our giving this year for which we give Him the glory!
In the series Hank said, “Every one of us can afford to give extravagant gifts. An extravagant gift is not defined by its amount but by its proportion to the giver’s income. Or to put it another way, true generosity is not evidenced in how much a giver gives but in how much they have left.”
Sunday, November 6th we will begin receiving our first “Season of Hope Offering”. This is an enhancement of what we formerly called our “Ingathering Offering.” This offering will go to six ministries and will be collected over a seven week period. It also allows us all to exercise our faith and stretch ourselves to become extravagant givers (Luke 21:1-4). Here’s the breakdown of how this offering will be dispersed:
- Global – 40% will be divided and shared by: Joy Gring and the new building for Rainbow Connection School in Guatemala, and Mario Calderon and their new building project.
- Local – 40% will be divided and shared by these local missions: Network, City House, and World Impact.
- Personal – 20% will go to our Christian Care ministry that provides assistance to individuals and families in need.
